is it me or do i notice that all the weird and hateful cultish statements are now appearing in the 'study edition' washtowels?.

Hey how about that? Teary is partially autistic too! The difference though, is that Teary is rational and objective, so he can actually understand the purpose of the "mentally diseased" paragraph (since that is what Teary assumes you are jabbing at), such as where it was quoted from, who it was directed to and why.

p.s. Teary ain't no private tutor (at least not for free). If you want answers to all of those questions (which Teary suspects you really don't), then you can go learn it for youself with the help of your local Kingdom Hall or the Witness publications. Or, you can just wait until Teary feels like writing a blog entry on it and then read that article...if Teary ever gets around to it...*yawn*

How Have you Counted your time for Pioneering?

just woundering how have you counted your time in field service especially if you were pioneering?.

would like to see if any of you were on the same page as i was.

with so much to do, like reading all the watchtower and awake each month and the bible reading each week.

Pioneer service is entirely voluntary.

The real point is: "“In case you vow a vow to Jehovah your God, you must not be slow about paying it, because Jehovah your God will without fail require it of you, and it would indeed become a sin on your part."

The work was far, far heavier and more difficult for the prophets and messengers of old, and yet Jehovah expected them to carry out their assignments regardless. Heck, they didn't even have cars back then!

That little slip that pioneers sign? That is their vow to their God to carry out so much of his work in preaching and teaching. When they lie and exagerate about their time, the main offense is to their God and to themselves, not the congregation. They should do what they say they are going to do and do it honestly. Let their "yes" mean "yes."

But of course, you youngsters today probably never learned good old fashioned principles like "keeping your word even when nobody is likely to find out."

Because many of them admit to being dishonest liars that give out intentionally and grossly false and exagerated descriptions of their activity?

"10 years pioneering at 90 hours/month - the last couple of years I counted time through my coffee break - but always begged Jehovah's forgiveness. I always felt guilty counting break time."

Whatever kind of work you engage yourself in, you should always strive to do it honestly and in the way that you have led people to believe that you are doing it. If your conscience bothers you about break time, then perhaps you should have just listened to it, or at the very least asked about it.

Most pioneers Teary knew just maintained the general principle: 10-15 minute break is fine, but longer than that and you should probably stop your time.

I dunno. Why did you deliberately misquote Teary? Is your dishonesty seeping through to other things now too?

Yes, Teary has known quite a few Witness elders over the years; but just discussing Teary's writing work and the origins of his name with JW elders doesn't mean that Teary is currently a Witness himself. Again, use those critical thinking skills.

1. Teary doesn't claim to be a JW.

2. He has no real need to count time.

3. He doesn't have any worries about disfellowshipping (why would he?).

4. At least Teary is actually HONEST in the things he undertakes, unlike many of the posters here.

Surely you do have the critical thinking skills to realize that a statement isn't true just because it appears in a Newspaper right? Honestly you are even worse than the Witnesses that you accuse of lacking critical thinking ability.

So how exactly can a study article be "members-only" when any random person can just walk in off the street on Sunday and get a free copy of the article for the meeting? It is not "members-only" at all, it is "meeting only." You can go through the study articles all you want (and heck even comment on it), you just have to come to the actual place where it is being studied and discussed.
